EMERITUS joins the LEA Projects Cluster
In the ever-evolving landscape of organised crime, terrorism, cybercrime and money laundering, the LEA Projects Cluster stands as a beacon of collaboration and innovation. This cluster is a collective of diverse European research and innovation projects sharing common stakeholders and similar objectives in supporting law enforcement authorities (LEAs) against a wide range of offences and fostering synergies and collaborations.
Following the latest developments of the EMERITUS projects and the recent acceleration of its results delivery, the project has eagerly joined this wide cluster consisting of 35 other projects and led by the CYBERSPACE project. It will capitalise on its membership to engage in a variety of collaborative activities including:
- Knowledge sharing: The cluster facilitates the exchange of expertise and information through joint webinars and other collaborative events. This initiative supports LEAs by providing them with the necessary insights and knowledge to effectively counteract criminal activities.
- Dissemination of information: By showcasing the projects on the cluster’s website and in its newsletter, the cluster amplifies the reach of its dissemination activities. This helps in spreading awareness and information about the ongoing efforts against crime.
- Harmonization of recommendations: The cluster strives to maintain consistency and complementarity in the recommendations it provides to the European Commission (EC), LEAs, and other relevant stakeholders. This ensures that the guidance offered is coherent and can be effectively implemented.
- Technical interoperability: There is an ongoing exploration to achieve a certain level of interoperability or compatibility among the technical platforms, modules, and services developed by the projects within the cluster. This would facilitate seamless integration and utilisation of these technological solutions.
- Research and exploitation synergies: The cluster actively seeks out synergies, research opportunities, and potential joint exploitation activities. This collaborative approach aims to maximise the impact and effectiveness of the projects within the cluster.
In the next months the EMERITUS project will attend the regular meetings the Cluster holds to familiarise with the other projects and seek opportunities for collaboration. The project has already been featured on the 3rd LEA Projects Cluster newsletter issued in June 2024. You can check out and read more about the LEA Projects Cluster.
